Intelerad
Making a difference in global healthcare

Intelerad’s Insignia InStream VDI deployed in multiple South West Trusts.

Insignia Medical Systems, powered by Intelerad, are pleased to be partnering with both North Bristol NHS Trust and Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust to provide them with their InStream Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

With funding coming from the £250M NHS Improvement budget, Insignia InStream VDI is being provided to the two Trusts who are already using Insignia PACs systems.

InStream VDI service reduces demands on local PC’s and removes the need for large images to be transferred, therefore improving performance and overall service efficiency. With all processing centralised within the hospital environment, users experience a high-performance service at home. The remote access service, which enables users to report remotely using VDI technology delivering super-fast PACS services to any location.

Speaking about these latest partnerships, Richard Dormer, Managing Director of Insignia Medical Systems, powered by Intelerad, commented “We are proud to be able to offer our customers and the NHS new and improved ways of working. In what has been a very demanding time for all NHS Trusts, our InStream VDI allows for more flexible ways of working whilst ensuring the same high level of service is maintained. We are always striving to adapt and improve our products and services to meet the changing needs of our customers and InStream VDI is a product of this ethos.”

Each radiologist will remotely and securely access images via Insignia InStream VDI without the need for PACS and RIS local installations, and with end-to-end encryption over consumer broadband networks included. As workstations used at home do not require the same compute power as full reporting workstations, this has the added bonus of extending their life and reducing the total cost of ownership.
